About Direct Booking Links

Direct Booking Links enable you to let bookers access the booking engine with a specific package, group, tariff, date range, room type or room group pre-selected.

Booking Links are typically emailed, distributed in email marketing campaigns, or embedded behind "Book Now" buttons on your website.

Creating Booking Links

  1. You can create your own Booking Links using syntax outlined in the section below.

  2. The offer you wish your Booking Link to access must be created in Visual One before building your Booking Link - whether it is a Package, Group, Tariff, Room Type or Room Group.

  3. Your web team will need to know the following:

    1. Your booking engine link.

    2. The Visual One Package code, Group Booking ID, Tariff code, Room Type code, or Room Group ID to be used in the Booking Link.

    3. Where the Booking Link is to be placed and how it is to be distributed.

  4. If using Room Groups, the ID for each Room Group can be found in the b4checkin Admin Site:

    1. Select “Inventory”, then “Manage Room Groups”
    2. The ID for each Room Group is located in the first column on the left.

  5. UX#1 Limitation: If the Room Type is pre-selected, the booker will not have access to browse other Room Types; they can only move forward in the booking process. For this reason, dates should always be pre-selected along with the Room Type in UX1.

  6. UX#2 Limitation: Both arrival date and departure date must be input in the direct booking link to have a Rate Type pre-selected. A Room Group tab cannot be pre-selected. A Room Type cannot be pre-selected.

  7. UX#3 is the only UX where all items can be pre-selected and the booker is able to review their selections, because they all appear within the first page of your booking engine.

Booking Link Syntax

  1. Ensure that the Package, Group, Tariff, Room Type or Room Group being used is fully operational in Visual One and for a booking made through the website manually.

  2. Create the Booking Link using the following syntax.

  3. Test your Booking Link to ensure it works before distributing it.

  4. Place the link on the website, direct mail out offer, email, etc.
