About Siteminder

Siteminder is a Channel Management provider.

Channel Managers enable a property to manage multiple online distribution channels such as Expedia, Hotels.com and Booking.com from one location.

Siteminder has access to multiple OTA's, GDS platforms, wholesalers and booking engines.

About the b4checkin Siteminder Interface

The Siteminder interface by b4checkin provides a two-way connection between Visual One and Siteminder, enabling real-time transfer of information between Siteminder and the property PMS.

b4checkin passes rates, availability and restriction data from Visual One to Siteminder, who then distributes it to the appropriate channels.

When a booker makes a reservation on those channels, that reservation data is then passed from Siteminder to b4checkin, and then into Visual One, so that the property does not have to enter such bookings manually.

The property must have a contract with Siteminder for this interface to operate.

Properties may also be using Duetto, which makes rate recommendations which can then update the prices in Visual One. b4checkin then pulls those prices from Visual One.

Siteminder Workflow

Prices are adjusted in Visual One →  The price changes are sent via the b4API to Siteminder →  Siteminder updates the various channels.

Updates only sent for the Room Types and Rate Types that are set up for Siteminder. See Siteminder Setup.

Guest accesses a channel and books a reservation →  The reservation is passed from Siteminder to the b4API  →  The reservation and credit card details are sent to rGuestPay (Freedom Pay) → rGuestPay tokenizes the credit card information →  rGuestPay passes the information to the BN Web Service → The reservation is entered into Visual One

Some properties use Duetto, a revenue management platform, to generate rate recommendations. This adds a step to the process:

Duetto makes price recommendations → Prices are adjusted in Visual One, either by Duetto or by the property team →  The price changes are sent via the b4API to Siteminder →  Siteminder updates the various channels
