About Visual One Tariffs

  1. A tariff code represents a rate that can be advertised to the public or made accessible only to certain bookers. This is controlled from the b4checkin Admin Site.

  2. A tariff code cannot contain spaces or these special characters:

    :

    /

    ?

    #

    [

    ]

    @

    !

    $

    '

    )

    (

    *

    +

    =

    ;

    ,

    &

    %

  3. A tariff code must be selected as "available on web" in the web settings of Visual One in order to be sold on chameleon™.  In Visual One go to: Manager Sub-Systems →  Options → Web Settings → Room Rates

  4. All tariffs must be mapped in the Visual One OTA Monitor in order to be sold on chameleon™. See section on the OTA Monitor below.

  5. Tariff codes cannot match any existing package codes in Visual One.

  6. Tariff Restrictions Hierarchy

    1. All restrictions can be set on the daily restrictions or quick tariff restrictions/yielding.

    2. chameleon™ always looks to the daily restrictions first.

    3. Tariff restrictions are only used if the daily restrictions permit the reservation.

    4. If a tariff is associated with a package, and the “Ovr Pkg Restrictions” flag is set on the tariff, chameleon™ will look at the attached tariff's yield restrictions instead of any restrictions set on the package yield.

  7. The following daily info restrictions will be respected:

    1. Closed to Arrival

    2. Closed to Departure

    3. No Sell Through

    4. Minimum Nights Stay

    5. Minimum Nights Stay Through (note: this is not based on arrival date)

    6. Oversell

  8. The following tariff restrictions will be respected:

    1. Closed

    2. Closed to Arrival

    3. Closed to Departure

    4. Minimum Nights Stay

    5. Maximum Nights Stay

    6. Override package yield (if tariff is attached) flag

  9. chameleon™ does not interpret availability specific to a tariff; availability is always pulled from general inventory for tariffs.

  10. Extra person charges for tariffs are set in the "Per Person Increments" section within Visual One.

Mapping a Tariff in the Visual One OTA Monitor

All tariffs that you wish to sell through chameleon™ must be mapped in the OTA Monitor.

Below are the OTA Monitor requirements for chameleon™. Note: It is also possible that Agilysys may require other items to be set up in the OTA Monitor for other PMS related purposes.

To map a tariff in the OTA Monitor, the following is required:

  1. All tariffs to be booked by chameleon™ must be mapped in the Agilysys OTA Monitor, including those tariffs that may be associated with booking IDs.

  2. Ensure that the OTA Monitor short cut icon is easily accessible by two (or more) property team members.

  3. The "rate plan" field must match the tariff code exactly. This field is case sensitive.

  4. The tariff must be selected in the tariff drop-down menu.

  5. "Use Custom Market Segments" check box must be selected, and the appropriate codes need to be associated.
