AVS (address verification system) settings

About AVS - Address Verification System

When you configure your new eCommerce Merchant Account, specify which Address Verification Settings (AVS) you want activated.

Your AVS setting specifies which address details on the cardholder's account you wish to match in addition to the basic requirements of account number, cardholder name, expiration date and CVV.

Your AVS setting can help minimize fraud and aid you to win chargeback disputes.

Available settings are shown at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Address_Verification_System

We recommend the settings shown below, which ask your acquiring bank to grant approval of a transaction only upon an address verification match (5-digit zip and street address match in AVS supported countries).

Address verification is supported by US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UK credit cards.

Other countries are omitted from AVS and as a result, are higher-risk transactions, as they do not include the additional address check.
